Fiduciary duty

fiduciary duty: a legal relationship of trust and confidence where one party (the fiduciary) owes certain duties to the other as a result of the relationship, a fiduciary’s duties include the duty to ensure his interests do not conflict with those of his client, a duty not to personally profit at the expense of his client and a duty of loyalty. Examples of fiduciary relationships include solicitors to their clients and trustees to beneficiaries.
