Non-solicitation clause

non-solicitation clause: in the context of restrictive covenants in employment contracts, a contractual clause that seeks to restrict a former employee from accosting and seeking to do business with his former employer’s customers, contacts or key staff; a restraint of trade clause which will be presumed unenforceable on public policy grounds unless the party seeking to enforce it can show that the non-compete clause goes no further than is reasonably necessary to protect its legitimate business interests.
